Happy Thanksgiving
Wanted to wish everyone a great Thanksgiving! I’m super thankful for my wife, who I miss a ton
, the Lakester, my entire family, having some food on the table, a roof over my head and the ability to work in my dream career as a Cycling Coach at FasCat. There are countless other things, but they are just icing on the cake. Incredibly thankful though to our Soldiers & Sailors who defend these freedoms so that I can pursue my dream.
Unfortunately I spent this Thanksgiving alone. Not really that big a deal, I got to talk to the family & I was invited to a dinner up in Winter Park. But I decided to just chill and have my own day. By my own day, that means going for a killer mountain bike ride!! Temps were chilly, but no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear. I decided to head over to Heil Ranch and just rip it up on the Superfly 100.

I’ve been to Heil a bunch when I used to live here. It was a love- hate relationship with the hardtail. It was super fun that it was technical, but it just would beat you up over and over, so incredibly rocky, lots of sharp edge bumps and drops that caused loads of impacts that added up over time.

Today though, I just had the biggest grin ever on my face going both up and down. Seriously, this seasons stoke factor has been turned up to 11. I just want to rip trails, ride my bike and crush it this year. Whole new race series, new venues, a refreshing change for 2011. I swapped back to the stock tires 29-3, which means a big meaty beast on the front and a lil thin shredder on the rear. The front was incredible, the rear tire was so-so, it may actually be too small. It felt a bit uneven at times, but only when really railing it through the technical descent on teh corners at speed. Climbing and regular riding it worked great, going to keep it on for now and see how it handles.

The trail is just as swoopy going down as the pic looks

Thanksgiving Feast!!

I did eat some Wild Turkey today, with a side of dirt and some rocks for an appetizer!

Couldn’t be more thankful!
What are you thankful for today?……
You are right Jason there is a lot to be thankful for. One of the things we are thankful is racers such as yourself. You come, you participate and let others know of the challenges and rewards you face and receive. Through your sharing that experience others get to enjoy along with you. I wanted to specifically thank you for your articles on El Reto and racing down in Central America. As another thanks to you we wanted to let you know we have passed your information on to our readers as well at http://www.whereintheworldareyou.com/memspeed/insights/article/mountainbikeaction/mtbracecources.html
Thanks again for the great job you are doing within the industry.
