Naples strikes again
Well, this past weekend was suppose to be a big ol weekend of mileage down in Naples. Apparently the Naples trails are super jealous of my fling with Colorado. She’s reared her claws a few times and I’ve yet to make it out of the trails without completely destroying something. This pas weekend was no exception.
You can’t see it but there’s come carbon damage from the chain. Luckily Fisher/Geneva Bicycle Center super hooked me up with a quick replacement that should be here by tomorrow. Unfortunately this gnarly mess all came within 10 minutes of hitting the trails and my ride was over. Really sucked cause the legs felt so good that day!
I returned back to Naples on Sunday, this time with the rigid singlespeed in hand. What can go wrong with that right? Well after ripping up OCP, Cutler and then the Nature Preserve with Curt and Chad, I managed to tear a sidewall. No biggie, I’ll boot it and then head out, I was happy with the ride so far (~ 3 hours of great trails). Well after the departure, I managed to flat on the road. No more tubes, ugh. This meant riding my singlespeed with a rear flat up the 6 mile climb back to the car. It took me 90 frigging minutes to drag that bike up the hill, WTF. That pretty much sucked, usually takes me 30 minutes or so to get up that. 40 frigging rpm for 90 minutes on a flat tire.
Mohican 100 this weekend!!! Hope to have a good report up post-race. Tomorrow, I’ll be building the bike up and giving her a quick shakedown. Tonight will be some road time. I feel good and ready to rock!
Apologies for the lack of posting, tried to kick the super-connected tech habit for a few days over the weekend and just relax!

Kill it at Mohican! Pray to the seatpost gods before you go.
Dang, that looks familiar!!
