The Sidam Touch

Seems everything I’ve touched today has not had the result I’ve wanted. My iPhone refuses to work in my house, nor will it stay connected to the wifi even though I’ve connected it up 100 times. My computer is acting funky, requiring a few reboots and facebook seemingly won’t let me log in.

So what to do? Well, go for a mountain bike ride and relieve some stress. That’s what the plan was anyways, till I got 2 pedal strokes and my freehub body on my powertap was frozen. WTF?? How the hell did that happen. I had my tools in my car so I pull the cassette of, take a look and nothing sticks out. Bring it down to the shop where they pull it off the axle, buttery smooth. Put it back on, add a smidgeon of tension to the bolts, frozen solid. Umm? Nothing to do now, but wait to see what Saris says?

So back home and no mtb ride as I had not enough time to grab the singlespeed and head to the trails and get in a ride. So, I grabbed my cross bike and explored the trailhead where I walk lizzy. I’ve never wandered very far, so I rolled up over past the water tower and, whoa a whole giant world to explore. Seems the East Boulder Trail runs a good ways (at least 30 min of riding) till I ran out trail and had to head back. By no means technical, but perfect on the cross bike. Rolling terrain, swoopy corners, waterbars to jump, cow pies to dodge, even cows to dodge on the trail.

Perfect ride actually, though I only ended up with 75 minutes, it was quite better than none…..now back to trying not to break anything!
