Carter Lake
Headed out today over to the Gateway group ride. Suppose to be the local ‘fast’ weekend ride. It was, but for a short bit; as most of the group rolled off after we hit Lyons (had to head back to study for exams). First time in a bit I’ve been in a large super fast road ride. Thankfully, I hung on the whole time; just barely.
This left a small group of 4 of us to fight the winds that were whipping out of the west. We made our way over to the lake and up the switchback climbs on the frontside and down the descent on the north-end. For some reason I just have not been comfortable descending on the road bike here very much. Could possibly be the nasty crosswinds that move you 3 feet across the road?
After trudging back to Boulder; I promptly filled my tummy up with some cappuccino and a breggo. Quite tasty and enough to get me to head out and back to Lyons for some extra time
Ride Stats: 4:48/2856kJ’s/218.6 TSS
Tomorrow? Wait for the ground to freeze, pull out the Superfly and put in the hours on the dirt, NY style! 18 degrees is Warm!!!!

Man, I’m so F’in jealous right now.
